Sankalpa Week: Henna Wheel, Fish, Weave and Creeper Symbols
Each day this week, I’ll be posting about a few symbols I incorporated into henna designs and my sankalpa (intention/purpose) behind them. This is a shot of designs I did for a beautiful bharatanatyam dancer/yoga teacher incorporating a chakra (wheel) design, fish, vines and a weave on the palms. The chakra is a protective symbol, signifying the victory of light over darkness. Again, fish are auspicious, representing beauty, femininity and abundance. The vines represent growth and the weave is auspicious, in my intention, because of association with woven mats used for yogic rituals and other sacred activities.
