Each day this week, I’ll be posting about a few symbols I incorporated into henna designs and my sankalpa (intention/purpose) behind them. This is a shot of a bridal design I did for a devout young bride. The vines on this bride’s palms and fingers represent the growing love and devotion in her heart, paired with a weave that I intended to represent sanctity and auspiciousness–yogic practitioners have used woven mats before engaging in ritual and other auspicious activities.
